Working on ass1 - Time
Time is a basic component of our measuring system and has long been a major subject of art, philosophy, and science.
In physics and other sciences, time is considered a fundamental quantity, i.e. one that cannot be defined in terms of other quantities because those other quantities – such as velocity, force, energy – are already defined in terms of that fundamental quantity (in these cases, both time and another fundamental quantity, space). Within science, the only definition needed or possible is an operational one, in which time is defined by the process of measurement and by the units chosen.
Among philosophers, there are two distinct viewpoints on time. One view is that time is part of the fundamental structure of the universe, a dimension in which events occur in sequence. This is the realist's view, to which Sir Isaac Newton subscribed, and hence is sometimes referred to as Newtonian time.[1][2]
[This made me think about a dance workshop that I was in a couple years ago. We were given a pen and a lot of different size pieces of paper. we were told that each piece of paper was some event in our lives, then we were instructed to poke the pieces of paper on the pen..and to imagine that moving the pens, was like a person dancing in space....you always carry your begege with you]
The opposing view is that time is part of the fundamental intellectual structure (together with space and number) within which humans sequence events, quantify the duration of events and the intervals between them, and compare the motions of objects. According to this second view, in the tradition of Gottfried Leibniz[3] and Immanuel Kant,[4][5] time does not refer to any kind of entity that "flows", that objects "move through", or that is a "container" for events, and it cannot itself be measured.
Temporal measurement has occupied scientists and technologists, and was a prime motivation in astronomy. Periodic events and periodic motion have long served as standards for units of time. Examples include the apparent motion of the sun across the sky, the phases of the moon, the swing of a pendulum, and the beat of a heart. Currently, the international unit of time, the second, is defined as a certain number of hyperfine transitions in caesium atoms (see below). Time is also of significant social importance, having economic value ("time is money") as well as personal value, due to an awareness of the limited time in each day and in human lifespans. working on ass1 - Kinesthesia
I was trying to figure out what I was trying to say with this 'effect'. And I think that what I am working on is the sense of Kinesthesia or Proprioception.
kinesthesia
1. The sense perception of movement; the muscular sense.
2. An illusion of moving in space.
Proprioception (pronounced /ˌproʊpriːəˈsɛpʃən/ PRO-pree-o-SEP-shun); from Latin proprius, meaning "one's own" and perception) is the sense of the relative position of neighbouring parts of the body. Unlike the six exteroceptive senses (sight, taste, smell, touch, hearing, and balance) by which we perceive the outside world, and interoceptive senses, by which we perceive the pain and the stretching of internal organs, proprioception is a third distinct sensory modality that provides feedback solely on the status of the body internally.
It is the sense that indicates whether the body is moving with required effort, as well as where the various parts of the body are located in relation to each other.

Working on assignement 1- How to
This is a different option that could help the movement be more visible...Since is from the head down instead that from the torso up.
Working on assignement 1- ideas
1. Idea of a dance performance seen from the eyes of a dancer. Therefore I would be using two cameras attached to the sides of the head of my dancer. The dancer would be performing a set piece of choreography.
Camera sees what dancer sees while moving...
PROBLEMS: I need a small Camera I can tape on the face of the dancer.
I feel like this way of filming would be too extroverted, and would be too much focused on what is around the performer. Unless the movement is really carefully focused toward the body.
2. Camera focused on performer, that moves with the performer. Camera fallows the dancer's movements while the set moves. Change of focus and of movement reference. Usually we perceive the space around us to be fixed while we move in it.
This could be done using a Snorri Cam. Which is what it was used in the Requiem For a dream scene.

I also found how to build one:

I am still thinking...not sure...

Working on assignement 1- time/space
Dynamic:new personal definition connected merely to the camera work-movement of the camera around fixed points, gives the dynamics of a sculpture[maybe????].
You can give focus on the idea of time, using changes of speed of the camera work.
Also to move away from the idea of space, I am thinking that I should reduce the space between the camera and the person.

Working on assignement 1- Dynamic
- Etymology:French dynamique, from Greek dynamikos powerful, from dynamis power, from dynasthai to be able
- Date:1799
1also dy·nam·i·cal \-mi-kəl\ a: of or relating to physical force or energy b: of or relating to dynamics
2 a: marked by usually continuous and productive activity or change dynamic city> b: energetic forceful dynamic personality>3of random-access memory : requiring periodic refreshment of charge in order to retain data

Working on assignement 1- Sculpture
Sculpture: for me is something that you can go around, 3D and murble-like, Iconic beuty is represented, black and white. Something that is SET in a specific way, for a reason and to give a menaing.
WIKI says: is three-dimensional artwork created by shaping hard or plastic material, commonly stone (either rock or marble), metal, or wood. Some sculptures are created directly by carving; others are assembled, built up and fired, welded, molded, or cast. A person who creates sculptures is called a sculptor. Because sculpture involves the use of materials that can be moulded or modulated, it is considered one of the plastic arts.

...we did not stop at My Soul Magnifies the Lord...
...school was finally over, the break was starting and we did not want to stop...
...Bronwyn and I...Me and Bronwyn...
...we ended up in a Hippie celebration of the Solistice, setting a little experiment, a video installation with a toilet and some dirt on one side of the room, and a old school bath tunb, with Tv and plastic on the other side...

...it was a great experiment, I really needed a break once it was done. But I have learned how to, from Final cut pro print back to VHS, which who knows it could come in handle one day, once vcr's disappear from the world (sarcastic)...and I had to perform a hand made looping of a VHS tape..yeah..old school....My brother and me also had to handle some ligthting and electical issues...trust me...it is a great sensation to hammer down a wall...
