HOW ABOUT a BARBIE movie?
I was thinking of my happy family Idea, and how stereotypical the characters would have to be to completely full fill the concept. And I started thinking why not use barbie dolls. The essence of the 90's culture.

A perfect doll with crazy proportions that has influenced people's concept of beauty and family.


In this I am interested in talking about family issues, making it all look very visceral.

How can I make an experimental film, that is uplifting with Barbies.
How can I work them in a Brothers Quay style?

Make an Uplifting movie.

well.
all I can think of is that I have not felt very uplifted recently and it is really hard for me to think about what to do.
All I can do is making an uplifted sensation by contrast.
what I mean is that I am thinking about SARCASM...

IDEA: Extremely happy stereotypical family....Fake large smiles and sad eyes.

Triangle: Image connected to family is that of the Trinity.Mother, Father and Holy Spirit....which it is a perfect triad/triangle, especially if you look at classical paintings and iconography.

Working on assignment n#2

SO I have been thinking about this assignement a lot...

Conclusion...

I will use the camera as a character of a fight...We never see the person that is behind the camera but all the gestures of the main character, the hits and the punchs are directed to the camera, which moves and deviates from the hits....

UP---Reaction----Camera/Person is on the floor after being hit, and it looks up to the person that it just hit him.

Camera effects in post production that will help: Blinking of the eye.

Everytime the eye blinks the face of the main character has somewhat been modified by hits...blood...bruises....appear slowly....

Last image...there is nothing on the face...almost as if the fight never happened...

WHAT IS HE SAYING?????
WHY IS HE FIGHTING?????
WHERE should I film it since it is all in his HEAD?????and it could be EVERYWhere????

Assignment # 2 -Chain Reaction-working on

Cannot really telll what it is, only see black line and super blue sky (who knows if I can get any of that)
until it gets to a kite...
what if, the strigs strarts in a house and there is a continuos change of ground behind it...until it gets to the kite..that flys away...uhmmm...cheesy

Assignment # 2 -Chain Reaction-working on

Ideas:[lame]
-Sprite and Mentos, reaction to and action, that moves up (pretty litteral, don`t really like it)
-chain reaction as a wave of movement that is passed on from person to person...(feist did it in her video and it is really musical 1950s)
-Blood (don`t know why and how)
-jumping, clipping away all the images of the actual jump and full and make a story like if people are flying, the action and reaction is in the actions between characters, while they appear suspended and without normal motion
(I need a trampolin)
-pooring paint, framing the image excluding where the paint falls and where it comes from, then make it go in the opposite direction
- In dance improvisation there is an exercise called hit and answer, I was thinking I could use that exercise, filming it from one of the dancers points of view...but I don`t know how I would get the UP topic, it would be a very suttle thing, like a pan or looking in direction...

Seeing 2001 was very inspiring, I wish I could build an entire set and give the idea that I am changing the direction of gravity....

I really don`t like most of these ideas, I am still working on it!!!
The only one that I am curious about is the jumping one...but I am not sure...
